  1. Hi there

I'm currently editing my animation.cfg, and have changed some of the stances. One thing that's always bothered me though, is the way our character runs with the lightsaber when it's turned on.

I've tried various mods with different variations of the running animation, but unfortunately none that fit what I'm after.

My current most used lightsaber stance pretty much looks like this:
    http://cdn.arstechnica.net/2011/10/20/t7_5_-4ea0820-intro.png

So I figured if it would be possible for my character to run with the lightsaber up like that as well would be great. Only it seems to be a bit more difficult than I imagined. After a bit testing of various attacks though, I noticed that the last few frames of the vertical slash with Medium style while running, puts the lightsaber down by the hip, holding both hands, so I figured that if I could use this animation that would be perfect. Problem is though, that I have absolutely no idea what the different lightsaber attacks are called in the animation.cfg, and I have a feeling that they're the ones called stuff like "BOTH_LK_S_DL_S_B_1_L". So if anyone could help me with narrowing down what line I need to edit, or anything, I would be grateful!

Also, in my search for different running animations, I stumbled across this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nddxRdyOeyo

Which I actually also like very much, at least for an alternative, but there's no download link of course. (I know this running animation is pretty similair to the one in the Clone Wars Stance mod, but I just think the head tilts a bit too much for my liking unfornately)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, if anyone knows if it's possible to change the weapon stance of the various blasters, similair to the one when exiting Zoom mode using the Disruptor rifle, where it actually seems like they're aiming. (Figured it out)

  2. Should be fairly easy to achieve. Frankenstein Obi-Wan's head onto Commander Keller's body:

    89251_1.jpg

That's what I thought :) I tried to do it myself back then, but my lack of skills was insufficient unfortunately.

One could also re-texture the skin, for the colors to be more appropriate, but I think I'll give that a go my self, despite I have no knowledge in the field, haha. That is, of course if it will be a reality :)

  3. Check this one out if you like it I'll let you have it

Cool, that's a nice model, I'd very much like that, thank you! :)

I'm still interested in my own request though, as I really like the design with the cape and such (http://srj-art.deviantart.com/art/Obi-Wan-Kenobi-in-Clone-Armor-124807913).

But in case DarthDementous won't find the time, or it'll take a long time for the other one to be done, it would be awesome to have your model Jeff! :)

  4. @@mrwonko, I don't want to be a larger pain in the ***, than I have already been, but do you think that you perhaps would be able to help me frankenstein this other model, from my topic in Model Requests:http://jkhub.org/topic/4424-model-request-general-kenobiskywalker-clone-wars/

I gave up on this model, since it sounded like it was too big a problem that the Mercenary Kyle model was from JK2, and the other one JK3.

I would really appreciate it, if you can assist me in any way.

  5. @Ëkvas, I'm sure your busy with all sorts of things, but you have already been mentioned in this thread once, and seeing your frankenstein projects, we know you are capable, and good at frankensteining. If, and when, you have the time, would it then be possible to talk you into to frankensteining either Obi-Wan - AotC (http://jkhub.org/files/file/1558-obi-wan-kenobi-attack-of-the-clones/) or Obi-Wan - RotS (http://jkhub.org/files/file/1121-hs-obi-wan-kenobi-rots/) head, onto Clone Commander Kellers (http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Clone_Commander_Keller;89251) body?

I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in this kind of skin, and imo it would be great to have a battle ready Jedi.

Hope to hear back from you.

  6. Just a wild idea, but why not Frankestein Obi-Wan's head onto a clone trooper model? could do a great job of this. That'd be pretty close to what you are looking for, wouldn't it?

Yeah, that was also what I realized, I found these two models that would be absolutely perfect for the job.

I edited it in my original post, but I'll just copy it here as well :)

After trying to find some models that looks like Obi-Wan from that series, I found this model of Clone Commander Keller, which almost has the excact same body, armor and cape as Obi-Wan:

    http://jediknight3.f...er_Keller;89251

After finding this reskin of Haplash Anakin, that looks like Obi-Wan from Episode II (http://jkhub.org/fil...-of-the-clones/), I thought that if someone would be able to frankenstein the head of Obi-Wan onto the body of Commander Keller, then it would be perfect. So if anyone is able to do this, I would be very grateful! :)

  7. http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/General_Kenobi;47034 <- this one? (I didn't see it on the hub though)

Yeah, I already have that one, and I think it's pretty good. What I had in mind was something that was a little less "jedi" like, and without the robe, so that it seems more battle oriented. To be more precise, the look Obi-Wan has in the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon, with the clone trooper armor and cape.

  8. Hi there

I was wondering if anyone has a Clone Wars General Kenobi or Skywalker model/skin, or would be interested in making one?

Seeing how there's lots of various jedi in robes and tunics, I figured it would be cool to have some in battle armor.

I stumbled over this deviantart of General Kenobi, and just thought it would be great to have a model like this in game.

  9. Yeah there's a bit of a lack of resources on how this all works... Maybe I should record a tutorial video explaining it in some detail, but I wonder how many people would still benefit from this, I don't think there are that many people looking to get into making Jedi Knight player models anymore.

That might be true. But in order for me to use this model, I then need to understand most of the things there is to using Blender? There is no easy and fast way for a newbie to Blender like me? Just so I can move on, and start my JK3 game, instead of waiting, and hoping to be able to use this model :b

  10. No, I want immediate notification, but only once per thread visit. With daily digests I'd get a mail every day there's an answer, even if I haven't read any yet, and probably only once the day is over and not immediately after the first one.

Nah I managed to download it all right.

You managed to put the skeleton below the head of LOD1 in the hierarchy, but that's not a problem, the exporter just looks for the name "skeleton_root", wherever it may be. Talking about LODs, doesn't look like you properly understood those, at least I don't think you meant for your model to only consist of legs.

Did you export as MD3 at first and then convert using MD3View? Yeah, that would hide the lod-problems and destroy your animations.

So when I first tried to export a GLM I got an Error "skeleton_root does not match specified gla" because I tried to export into Jedi Academy's base/models/... folder when it uses the JK2 skeleton. Would have been nice if you had specified that you're working on a JK2 model, but I figured it out. So I exported it into the JK2's base/models/... instead and that worked just fine, as far as animations go.

Anyway, I can't help you in any more detail until you become a little more specific with your problems than

Okay, like I said, I'm new to the whole modelling thing, this is my second attempt at using Blender, so I'm probably a bit in over my head.

My process with this model was that I first imported the .glm of one of Spankis jedi models (JK3), selected the head and hair, and just did a copy of that. Next I imported the .glm of Bradys Mercenary Kyle (JK2), deleted the head from that model, and pasted the jedi head. After a resizing and moving the head around, I finally got it to match the body, so that it looked natural (like the picture in my first post). Once I got that done, I exported the model as a .glm, and tried to place it in a .pk3 in order to see if the model worked, which it unfortunately didn't (problem mentioned in first post)

I haven't done anything else such as moving the skeleton, or exporting as MD3, the only thing I've done, is copying the head and placing it on top of the model. Like I said, I had hoped that frankensteining, would be somewhat that "easy". So as much as I'd like to give you more detail on this matter, unfortunately I can't, since I haven't done anything else than copying and pasted the head onto another model.

But I want to thank you very much for taking the time to try and help me :)

  11. It's just that the bloody forum software here sometimes doesn't notify me of new replies. The only alternative would be to get a mail for every single new post, but why the hell would I want that? I want one mail until I visit the thread again, but apparently the coders didn't know the difference between a thread and a forum. Blargh.

Please upload the file somewhere I don't have to install some stupid application to download it, say Mega.

Ah okay, no problem, not your fault, I'm just grateful that you are trying to help :)

And like Boothand said, if you click the file on the top, it just goes directly to download, but if you are still experiencing problems, just say the word, and I'll upload it to Mega :)

  12. If you're using my plugins, read the manual. It describes what it has to look like to properly export, and what settings to use when exporting.

I do belive I am using your plugin. I'm having trouble finding the manual right now, but I might be looking in the wrong folder. The problem I have though is not about exporting the model, it's about how it's acting in-game, but that might be what you're referring to, that I have incorrectly exported the model?

EDIT: I found your manual, and tried to do what it said, but now I can't seem to export the .glm

Would it help to upload my .blend file?

  13. Hi there.

I've tried to frankenstein one of Spankis Jedi heads onto Bradys Mercenary Kyle for personal use, so now it looks like this in Blender:

    28ml8na.jpg

I've tried exporting the .glm, and making a .pk3 and so on, but when I try to use it in-game the character just floats with his arms and legs spread.

I've only copied the face onto the Mercenary Kyle model. I tried to parent the head onto the torso, but I'm not sure I did it right. If anyone knows how to make the model work, I would be really grateful!

  14. I've actually combined the two if you want the skin I have pm me and I'll send it too you in email.

    Here's a screenshot http://www.flickr.com/photos/112335994@N05/12061448676/

Whoah, that actually looks very good. I would very much like that skin, thank you! :) It though looks like the hair model is the same as in the original Cade skin, and not the "Anakin" hair from Spanki's model, but I guess it's too much of a hassle to replace it?

    Anyways, my email is alexanderb92@gmail.com

Can't wait to try it out! :)

  15. Hi there.

I'm new here, so I guess I'd introduce my self in this topic as well.

Played JKA for many years, when it came out, loved it, and loved using all the great mods (primarily models and skins though). Recently I thought I'd try to play it again, and damn, there's a lot of beautiful new mods! I can't believe people are still modding this game, but it's amazing! Especially considering MovieDuels and MovieBattles and so on!

But now as the topic title says, I have a penchant for Cade Skywalker. The thought of a Jedi-Bounty-Hunter-Smuggler-Space-Pirate is just too awesome! So I've always wanted to play as him in a game, only there are no games with him! I first tried creating a similar character in SWTOR, and then about the same time they released a black trench coat, so that went pretty well, and I ended up using all my time and money in the game, to look as much as him as I could.

Only problem was, I rather fast ended up thinking the combat system was rather dull. So then I thought I'd give that game up for a while (might give it a chance again at some time, it just takes waaaay too long to install and update).

But then, like I mentioned earlier, I installed JKA, and the first thing I did was search for a Cade Skywalker model/skin. I then tripped over Spanki's Sith Customization, which had a Cade skin. Just, no disrespect towards him, the chest is beautiful and precise, and so is the model, only he's wearing a robe, and I really dig that trench coat. I then found a model using a trench coat, another Cade Skywalker model, but unfortunately rather poor textures, especially compared to Spanki's. So then I thought I'd give it a go, and see if I would be able to mix and match the two models/skins. I ended up using three whole days, trying every possible way I could think of. Even tried looking up guides on the internet, but I absolutely just could not seem to find out how to mix the models. Problem also being, the Cade Skywalker model with the trench coat, uses only one .png for the whole body, while the Cade from Spanki's mod uses 4 or 5 (can't really remember). And also, the head on Spanki's uses a lot more .png's compared to the other one.

So my prayer is, is capable of taking the head from Spanki's model, and then replace the head on the other model with Spanki's? Or another model with better quality textures? And if it could be converted to being able to use in single-player, that would make it even better! :)

Here is the original Cade skin:
    http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Cade_Skywalker;89588

And actually I also found this skin, with a bit better textures it seems:
    http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/Ryojin;106537

If anyone can help me get a proper Cade Skywalker model, wearing a trench coat, I'll be ever so grateful!!
