Delmi Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Hello, I recently installed Jedi Academy on a computer that has Windows 8. I tried to run in in compatibility mode and as admin, but I still get the following error: Anybody have ideas on a solution? Cheers!
Delmi Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Just a basic ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200. I had absolutely no problem running JKA when it had 7 on it, so I know for a fact the laptop can run the game.
KDR_3XILE Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I've actually come across this problem before bro...I'm trying to remember what the issue was, I think it was something simpler than what everyone else was telling me...Shit, I'll have to think back on it. Have you updated the game? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I've forgotten to do it in the past >.<
Delmi Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Lol, yeah I updated the game. I forgot at first... After nearly a decade of playing the game, I thought I'd remember to do that.
eezstreet Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Try GLDirect (google it). Might have to turn off Catalyst AI also. I know that Doom 3 gave me issues with sikkmod whenever catalyst AI was enabled.
Delmi Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Found it no problem But I'm kind of nooby when it comes to this stuff. How do I install/use it?
Sentra Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 Heya, I had that kind of problem on Win7 and Win8 with the ATI card too. In the newest drivers AMD have cut old OpenGL driver support for unknown reason. But anyway, I have found the solution: click here, download and then put the .dll in GameData folder (where is jasp and jamp.exe).It should help. PS: You do not need to turn off ATI Catalyst or Catalyst A.I. with this solution (at least I do not have to ).
Delmi Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Sadly, I'm still getting the same error :/
Delmi Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 ^Everything is up to date. And sadly that fix also didn't do anything.
