has anyone actually reached a limit when mapping.

okay i am curious i heard that if you put too many textures you can run into an issue where the map will not complie anymore. i honestly have several ideas but they are big ideas. and i am just wondering if anyone has actually made a map that was the limit of how much you put into it.

I've run into limits regarding the total number of brushes before. You can only have so many.

 

And if you try to do a -vis compile without actually preparing the map for that you can run into portal-related errors as well, I think I've seen that before.
