How-To for running your JKA gaming servers from the EscapedTurkey gaming server host. http://www.escapedturkey.com/ Since the start of my clan, the Angels of Fire, in 2005, we have always been loyal customers of the game server host EscapedTurkey. Several years ago I was asked to become a moderator due to my knowledge of server management. Each server is User Managed, this helps reduce the overhead costs of hosting. Moderators are available and knowledgable in many of the games hosted by ET. Below is a tutorial... in progress, regarding how to manage your ET server. 1. Use your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.) and enter your server's IP address followed by :20000. So for example if your server's IP address is 72.5.248.111 you would enter https://72.5.248.111:20000 That will give you a login page. Enter the username and password that you received in the email from Escaped Turkey when you rented your server. You should see 4 buttons: Change Password, Custom Commands, File Manager, Upload and Download. Click on "Custom Commands". You should see two columns of buttons. In the RIGHT-HAND column, sixth button down, there is a button labeled "Edit Jedi Academy". Click that button. You will see a configuration page that looks like this: server_mod_directory (make it "japlus" if you are using JA+ mod) rcon_password (enter the rcon password that you have chosen) server_log_name (enter games.log or whatever you have chosen for your log file name with g_log) server_ip (enter your server's IP address) server_sv_maxclients (enter the number of slots you are renting, 8 to 32) server_sv_pure (set it to 0 if you want to allow people to use custom skins without having them on the server) server_config1 (enter server.cfg if you are using JA+) username (your username) You can leave the rest unedited. Click "Save". You will be back on the Custom Commands page. In the LEFT-HAND column, sixth button down, you will see "Start Jedi Academy". Click that button. You will see a page that says your server will start in a few minutes. Be patient. Click the button to go back to the Custom Commands page. File Manger: Here you will see a list of the games available. Navigate down to "JA". The default game files can be found within that folder, including a base folder. You can manually create other JA folders such as Japlus, MBII. Here you can also upload maps, mods, .cfg files, etc...
