  1. a JKH server would be epic, id also be willing to help out with it :P

As for getting Wiki content.  Why not ask the affiliated clans?  i mean most of us have a silly amount of JKA related info splattered through our forums, it wouldn't take much convincing to poke them into posting it here or at least handing it over to someone.

just an idea, but direct communication does yield results :P

  2. I actually thought of seeing if we could do this. Like we have Mod Project Forums, offer Clan Forums.

Funnily enough, this was something being considered for JKhub during its creation, but it took a back bench due to our lifes taking over etc.

who's going to deal with clans fighting others in the server? trolling and the usual lamers against anti-lamers etc

The plan is to have admins and such supplied from participating clans for a while, until admins can be gathered from the people who play there.

Imho jka is not the best place to start a community...at least not for a longer period of time. Lamers keep the traffic going, it's the script-kiddies what's making the game more and more dead (and easy credits on lmd). There aren't that many new people around. BUT it also depends what kind of community you wish to have. If you make a strong step forward and gather all the trolls and ddosers then yeah, suit yourself. Not sure if the server of that kind is a good idea...most likely it would just gather random people who'd play together, even not as a clan. BUT IF and IF it had proper advertising and the msg was clear as to what it's all about then who knows...

This is why JKHub exists lol.

  3. The problem is, new clans get there own server, but dont have traffic (some exceptions to this of course), so end up dying out before they get anywhere.

Giving them a place to play and get sorted before branching off would do them a world of good.

  4. So, im thinking of re-building Clanwarriors, or something of the alike.

For those of you who weren't around during that era, Clanwarriors was a neutral server where anyone could recruit and start a clan, they had a website where newly formed clans could have there own sub-forum and basically provided a platform for new clans to jump off from.

Due to the decline of new clans surviving lately, i think this would help rectify the issue.

So far the plan is to have some of the bigger clans support the project (EK, JAWA etc) with the goal of making it entirely self sufficient.  The involved clans will still watch over the project, help out new clans when needed etc, but in general to keep the project neutral we'l try to limit our involvement.

Anyway, id like to hear your guys opinions on this.

  5. I like this idea.

EK's been mulling over doing an Achievement system for a while now, we had the notion that adding achievements for doing something fun or awesome will help increase the playability of the game.

Anyone that's played JK games for 10+ years like me know how boring JKA can get at times, so doing something like this will help keep it interesting.

Even if some people think its bollocks, they'l still use it. People don't stop using Steam simply because there's achievements do they? if you don't want the achievements, just don't go for them and ignore there existence its not exactly that much of a bother as long as it doesn't interfere with the game.

  6. Are you trying to say they will not release a new 32-bit operating system?

Basically, After Windows 8, it is unlikely. They aint required to, but as Link said, a 32 bit game wont work on a 64/128 bit OS, which is the next logical step. So without an emulator or some form of compatibility patch/system/whatever we wont be able to play JKA, which would be sad :(

  7. From what i can gather, we have around 5-10 years left (ish).

Reason: Windows were reluctant to release 32bit Windows 7, and almost didint support 32bit Windows 8.... soooo, my guess is Windows 9 wont have 32bit (ignore the "this is the last Windows", they're too stupid to make a perfect OS, so there will be a new one)

But yeah, If Windows 9 doesnt support 32bit, the amount of JKA players will start to plummet on a by-monthly scale (where as currently the effects of the games age can only really be seen on a yearly scale, mostly due to its release on steam and unique game play).

Im hoping Windows will realise there dumbassery and release 32bit Windows 9

In other relevance, The amount of companies abandoning 32bit is on the increase (or atleast not including support on release).

  8. Welcome mate, glad to have you on board
