Dr. Donkey Posted August 16, 2017 Posted August 16, 2017 Hey guys, I don't know what happened to my JKA recently but a few days ago my screen startet flickering like you can see in this video: https://streamable.com/mtd22 The only way it is somehow acceptable is when I turn on vsync. However that was never a problem before and I could always use /com_maxfps 333 or higher without problems. Right now the higher fps I set the worse the flickering gets. The only thing I changed lately is my graphics card and the nvidia driver for it. Do I have to change some settings in the nvidia panel? Am I missing something? Did someone have the same problem maybe?
Dr. Donkey Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 Windows 10 Pro Build 1703 i7 7700k16GB RamGTX 1080tiJKA on SSD First I thought it was some corrupt gamefile or command but I bought JKA on steam and tried it after a fresh install with same results. Doesn't matter if I try 4:3 or 16:9 format, which I thought was the problem first. So I guess it must be a Nvidia problem or something like that.
ensiform Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 Can you get the console log and paste it on a paste site? Also, have you tried OpenJK?
Dr. Donkey Posted August 17, 2017 Author Posted August 17, 2017 Thanks for your replies so far but I tried fiddling around in the nvidia system settings and somehow got it to work now. While before I could reach FPS above 333 I am now limited to 144 which fits my monitor refresh rate. The game runs supersmooth now!
ensiform Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 That means you have vsync turned on. Assuming your monitor refresh is 140 hz
