Kaden Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 I have jedi academy in cd form and have also bought it on steam but I can't get the asset files I need to use open jk. At first I tried following this guide with the two original disks. The problem is disk 2 has nothing on it except for a few files with Chinese symbols as their name, so it doesn't work. The disks have worked in the past on a Windows os. Then I tried the manual method detailed here with the steam game I bought, but steam still won't let me download it. Is there anything else I can do to get this working on Linux? I'm using Ubuntu if that helps.
eezstreet Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 You can use a virtual machine to install the game on, and extract the assets from there. I don't know if there's any better way to do it.
Kaden Posted February 10, 2016 Author Posted February 10, 2016 Ah, I was probably a bit hasty re-buying the game then. Thanks for the help. I'll try that when I get the time.
