newbie Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Sup,So I've downloaded Jedi Knight Jedi Academy on steam in a fit of nostalgia. Previously I played on a Windows machine but now I have a Mac laptop and I'm running into some issues. Firstly I have downloaded Ja plus from this website and I believe I have put it in the right place but it still want work. Can anyone help me I really want to play online again.Hope to hear from you soon
Raz0r Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Going to need more info than "won't work" How do you know it isn't working? Are you getting any error messages? Did you download the correct version of JA+ and install it correctly? You could also try OpenJK with JA++
newbie Posted January 4, 2016 Author Posted January 4, 2016 When I go to the load mod screen it doesn't appear I beiieve I have installed it properly as I followed the instructions in the read me text file but they aren't very descriptive. Thanks for your reply
Raz0r Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 The mod loading menu is populated by folders that contain a description.txt file, e.g. GameData/japlus/description.txt (well, GameData equivalent for Mac) Confirm that file exists in that location, the files may just be in the wrong folder.
newbie Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 I think I might just delete everything and start again if I was to start again do you know a safe place to download it all or a step by step guide. I've been reading about having to install MAC patch 1.01E and I can't find this. Sorry I'm so hopeless at this you've been really helpful.Cheers
Raz0r Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 There may be some useful information on or around here. Pinging @@redsaurus
newbie Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 Ok so I followed all the steps in that link you gave me and set up my folder to look the same as the one shown. I get the message "Please insert the CD "Jedi Academy." Any ideas?
Raz0r Posted January 6, 2016 Posted January 6, 2016 I've only used OpenJK on Mac where that isn't an issue.
newbie Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 well I guess I hope that @redsaurus has the answer. Thanks for your help anyway Raz0r!
