DairangerSentai7 Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Hello JKA community, everytime I launch Jedi Academy it freezes on the logo (the one with Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy with the blue background) I can't even open my control panel which makes me have to restart my computer by pressing the button. On my vista laptop it works fine (not as good quality but fine), this is a windows XP Home Edition Service pack 3 desktop and the graphics card is a Intel® 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family, please help me I've tried un/re-installing it multiple times, I've verified it's game cache and I've download this opengl thing I remember reading about and it still won't work! How can I fix it? And as a side note when I play jedi outcast I can play it on the highest quality, and I can even play Battlefront II on a great quality, and if Battlefront II is newer than Academy why won't it work???? Please help me. And all of this is on steam.
Futuza Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 Running it as an administrator? (Right click...select "run as administrator"). Oh wait, I don't remember if that's an option in xp sp3...What's your direct x version?
Horatio Culver Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Wait...Why do you have to restart your computer if one game freezes? Just use the hotkey for quit (ctrl+Q), or, if that doesn't work, the hotkey for force quit (cmd+alt+esc on Mac, no idea what it is on Windows but I'm guessing ctrl+alt+esc).
Mog Posted June 13, 2013 Posted June 13, 2013 Update your Direct X software, update your drivers. If that doesn't work, try this
