Default.cfg problem

Hi Guys,

 

i run into this problem recently and its very annoying.1st i tried to install the new movie battles2 and i had the same problem:i get the message "couldnt load defult.cfg".Then i realised it became a multiplayer so i deleted it and finally found a good link to download KOTF (all the links are dead nowadays just FYI even the google drive one).So i installed it yesterday night and the bloody same problem i have-same message.Now even the game wont start where it worked fine before the mod.WTF is this file and where should be located at?? 

Any real help would be much appreciated.
