The website was recently updated, and consequently some things are broken. We will be fixing minor theme bugs in the background over the course of the next few days.

    Wanted: JKHub Staff

Not really. I expect them all to be in within the next couple of weeks tops, and sooner is better, but there isn't any specific deadline right now.
  3. We have 3 staff members Circa, AshuraDX, and myself are our current staff members - we do everything that keeps JKHub running smoothly. Sometimes though, we can't get around to things with just the three of us. For example, I've been gone this past month due to moving countries & having limited internet access; I've only just gotten back to proper activity levels today (which also means work on software upgrades can now resume after a month of nothing happening). Similarly, Circa and Ashura have lives to live, places to be, and things to do outside of JKA. In conclusion, we could use a bit

  5. Seems you've got it figured out now, looking at the submission queue? If not: Your file is probably over the 50mb upload limit; try linking it externally instead (upload it to Google Drive or something temporarily)Your file might not be a .zip fileTry another browser, you might have a browser plugin/setting breaking the uploader. Try switching to the basic uploader on the file upload page as well. EDIT: you ninja'd my post just then.
  6. Isn't that already where the nonsense subforum used to be? Is what you're suggesting basically just bringing back the nonsense subforum?
  7. We allow copyrighted music and sounds in mods, because basically everyone does it, it'd be absolutely impossible to filter out even if we wanted to (which we don't), and it doesn't seem to cause the controversy and sort of stifling effect that ported models seem to in the JKA community

  9. OFFICIAL POLL Thanks for all your entries! Submissions for our Asia themed modding contest are now closed, so you now have until March 18th to vote on which submission you think is the very best, like no-one ever was. Now in bolder text: this poll closes March 18th. All votes are publicly visible, and I make an effort to weed out fraudulent votes when the poll closes, so don't be surprised if you see the numbers jump around a little bit. We usually see at least one person registering dummy accounts to vote for their preferred mod, which we weed out through our Top Secret Algorithmâ„¢

  11. Three people pointed me to this post, so I'll just post what I told them here: this should be fixed by the upcoming major software upgrade (see also the last part of my contest Chinese New Year contest announcement). Until then, known issue, but not much I can sensibly do.
  12. Good thing the theme for this contest is not China then
  13. Honestly, it's mostly just a judgement call on the staff's part, but I'm really just talking about actual malicious intent here. I'm not worried about things like Last Samurai or that reborn mod, it's more about people submitting Asianified Hitler under the title of "kill all Asians" to be le epic contest troll. While I was imagining most entries to be south/east Asia when I created this contest, and was not so much thinking of countries like Russia, any country on this map is a valid contest submission I think that's kind of a stretch, and sort of a weak entry as far as following the As
  14. Today is Chinese New Year. Most of the JKA community lives in different countries, and may not even have noticed: we don't normally even announce it. For those in China, happy Chinese New Year/Spring Festival. For everyone else: is our excuse for a modding contest believable enough? Asia themed modding contest We haven't had any modding contest since Halloween, and front page news has been a bit absent. We've been extremely busy behind the scenes preparing for the biggest backend software upgrade JKHub has ever seen, which has been a lot of work, but isn't very visible if you're not staff. Si

  16. I'll be posting a new modding contest on the 16th, as well as a brief progress update on the software upgrades, since I missed the January timeframe I was hoping for (and I'll be gone emigrating for several weeks in 8 days)

  19. Fix tutorials nav bar link being wrong (linking to the now-removed tutorials section) on the fixed width style
  20. Surprise, I'm a Dutch person living in the Czech Republic and moving to the UK.
  21. Yes hello. I do actually understand why you'd say that; essentially everything we've been doing is very behind-the-screens-y. To give you an idea though, here's some of what we've done over the past two weeks. Keep in mind there's just three of us right now - Circa, Ashura, and me: We manually copied, pasted, and fixed the contents of 185 (!!!!) tutorials into forum posts, one by one, by hand, to prepare for our upcoming forum software migration. They're here now.I made this (work in progress, link may break at any time. This is my personal web development space): https://area51.jkhub.org/in
  22. The tutorials section is now a forum category instead of an entirely separate system, to enable a migration to the new backend software without losing all our tutorials. Special thanks to Circa and Ashura for their massive amounts of help manually copying, pasting, and fixing every single tutorial we have.
  23. An in-depth guide on the screenshot functions, how to use them and their advantages/disadvantages. Jedi Academy does not fully support use of the printscreen button, particularly when playing in fullscreen mode. Instead, if you want to take a picture of what you're seeing ingame, you can use the following tutorial. Commands: There are two basic commands to take a screenshot: /screenshot and /screenshot_tga. The /screenshot command saves the screenshot in JPG format, the /screenshot_tga command uses TGA instead. /screenshot_tga results in better quality than /screenshot/screenshot_tga freeze
  24. Introduction So, welcome to this tutorial. It's meant to show people completely new to JKA how to get started, as concisely as possible. Here is what this tutorial will teach you: How to patch your game and see all serversHow to chatHow to use the consoleWhat laming is, so you don't get kicked from servers over and overHow to install a .pk3 mod, like a custom mapHow to install a code mod, like JA+How to install OpenJK (optional)Common pitfalls you should know about as a new playerFirst: buy Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. We recommend getting it from GOG.com, because they are really cool people w
