Combining multiple character customization mods?

First of all this is just for personal use and not redistributing anyone else's mods, that said if i were wanting to take a handful of skin mods for single player and decide that i only want to use those, but some are part of a larger mod or have problems working with other skins, how could you go about making a single pack for those hand picked skins? Honestly i'm a noob at this stuff so i don't even know if you can do that.
