eezstreet Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 If you've got Google Code, you might want to port your projects to GitHub - they have a convenience exporter to GitHub which will help. All code on Google Code will be gone in August 2015. It pisses me off that they're doing this, since a lot of code will be gone.In the meantime, I will be putting JA IRC and Gunslinger's Academy code up on GitHub, since those are the only two projects of value that I have on there.
Cerez Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Typical... Use open source and community-based projects as much as possible, people! Forget about relying on corporations. Even Mozilla is bad news... Just because these large companies have bigger funds does not make working with them more stable.
eezstreet Posted March 13, 2015 Author Posted March 13, 2015 Mozilla isn't a corporation - they're a non-profit organization. I'd trust them a whole lot more than I trust Google.
Cerez Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 That's true, but they're wanting to become one. Their recent moves seem to be very much self-interest guided. Here's a little fun info I've drafted: http://jkhub.org/topic/5488-the-four-empires-of-it-space/ This news report inspired me to finally write it. Now I'll let you guys get back on topic here. Google Code shutting down is a serious problem for many projects, after all.
