Donations
Profitability
The Jedi Knight Hub is run entirely by volunteers. We currently do not have any paid ads, anywhere. We're not part of any company, and we make no profit. Unfortunately, keeping JKHub online costs money, which is why we desperately need any donations we can get. What does JKHub need my money for?
Here are just some of the things we need to pay for every year:- Web hosting, to make sure our site stays online and we can keep hosting other people for free
- Our Content Delivery Network, which ensures you get acceptable download speeds no matter where in the world you are
- Renewal of the licenses to the software we use, so we can stay up to date, prevent security issues, and roll out new features when they become available
- Renewal of our domain name, to make sure it doesn't expire
Frequently asked questions
Q: What's the exact amount of money you need every year?A: We post a news message about this around the fourth quarter of each year. To give you an indication, however: it's very unlikely to be below $300.
Q: Is my money actually going towards JKHub?
A: Yes. We will use your donations only to benefit JKHub.
Q: Which payment methods do you accept?
A: Thanks to Paypal, you can donate using Mastercard/Eurocard, Visa/Delta/Electron, Discover, American Express, Switch/Maestro, Solo, and Paypal.
Q: I can only spare XYZ, should I still donate?
A: Definitely. We certainly do not expect one person to pay for all of our costs, and can use anything we can get.
Q: Do I get anything special from donating?
A: Not at this time, sorry. You get warm fuzzies for supporting JKHub and being an awesome person, though.
Q: Can I specify which part of JKHub, or which specific cost, my money should go towards?
A: No. Sorry.
Q: Is JKHub a registered Non-profit or charitable organization?
A: No.
Q: Do you need donations right now?
A: Whenever JKHub needs donations badly, we will post about it on our forum. This usually happens once every year. That said, even when we do not immediately need donations, we welcome the money: it will be put towards future expenses.
