A server admin or server administrator, is a player who can control a server. These are either server owners or players whom the server owner has given admin access to.
A server admin may have access to any of the following:
- Server Control Panel - This allows the admin to switch the server or and off, upload files, change settings or even which mod the server is running.
- Server Console / RCON - This lets an admin type commands directly to the server, allowing them to ban or kick players, change the map, gametype or any other server settings.
- In-Game Admin Powers - These are powers provided by a mod, such as JA+ or ClanMod, which could potentially let the admin do any of the following: Ban or kick players, change the map, sleep players, spawn npcs, use noclip, give players guns or force, etc.
