Lugormod
Lugormod refers to a mod originally created by Lugor that featured RPG-based levelling and character progression, as well as ingame entity manipulation which would become the staple feature of Makermod.
Development[edit]
Original mod[edit]
The original version of the mod was released on Filefront. This version did not receive a large amount of attention but the mod slowly grew in popularity due to its ingame map building features and RPG design.
T2[edit]
At this point, Lugor handed off the development of the mod to Robophred. Robophred went on to include many new features, and the mod became incredibly popular, with only a few spinoffs.
EUKA[edit]
EUKA refers to an experimental fork of the Open Jedi Project Enhanced mod by RoboPhred. Some of its ideas and code was eventually reused in Lugormod U#.
U#[edit]
After T2, Robophred began work on U#, which included highly-requested features such as new scripting and an all new entity interface. A few years after U# came about, popularity began to taper off, due to large clans such as Mystic Forces,previously known as <|GOD|> (who hosted the most active Lugormod server globally), along with other large clans like !!BOSS!! and Clan Atlantis eventually moving on to other games. Regardless, the features were highly praised at the time.
Open Source[edit]
After RoboPhred left Jedi Academy he handed over development of Lugormod to Ufo who briefly maintained the mod before releasing Lugormod as Open Source on github in 2018. Since then, several spin-off versions of Lugormod have been born on various servers, including Imperials Lugormod, Mystic Lugormod and EU Lugormod.
Features[edit]
Lugormod included several features which were to become unique for its mod. These included entity manipulation, map-building, and complex, almost MMO-like character progression. Multiplayer also has three classes, Jedi, Sith and Merc, which each have their own unique skills. The community has however been scolded for its rampant trolling and Laming.
