Ladder - The Xmas Story is a Single Player mod for Jedi Outcast, including a dueling map in Winter style.
Plot[edit]
Unlike other mods this one doesn't have a story per se, but is made for mere fun. The Readme includes a few notes however, stating, that Kyle Katarn has some problems with Imperial tie-fighters and crash lands on an unknown, rocky planet with a small Portal. This leads to a cold Christmas Planet...
Gameplay[edit]
LADDER - this type of a map includes several following specifics, as according to the authors:
- 2 Maps. "Crash_landing" and "ladder_xmas"
- over 50 enemies in 18 waves.
- NEW Cutscenes
- many, many scripts
- snow effect
- new shaders and textures
- new Skybox with moving clouds
- some new NPC's without replacing the old characters
- new Game Menu with difficulty settings and snow :D
- customisable and free selectable Jedi-Helpers
- and many, many fun ! :D
Behind the scenes[edit]
The mod includes several Christmas skins, created by different users for such models as Palpatin and Reborns. Among the enemies are also Christmas zombies and Mara Jade, who can help you during the fight.
The main music (xmasladder.mp3) titled "Running From Hell (God Mode Mix)" is by Bart Klepka - Running From Hell (God Mode Mix) [Doom 2].mp3, released 23.10.2000 (and re-released 18.12.2000).
