Dash Rendar Resurgence is a Single Player mod for Jedi Outcast, inspired by Shadows of the Empire storyline of Star Wars. The mod takes place some time after the main course of the JO. The mod was later re-released for Jedi Academy.

Plot[edit]

Dash Rendar, a smuggler, is hired by a mining colony to smuggle in disruptor rifles to help them fight back against a corrupt organization controlling the mines. After the rifle supplier fails to show up to deliver the rifles to Dash, he goes on a search for the supplier at the coordinates of where they last made communication.

Gameplay[edit]

The mod includes one mission, divided into two maps. Dash Rendar isn't a Force user, so lightsaber combat isn't available. Equipped with DL-44 blaster he is often assisted by his droid partner Leebo, who gives him advice and hints via wrist communicator. The second mission includes several objectives, which can be complete in any order.

The Outrider

Behind the scenes[edit]

Dash Rendar is a character from the Expanded Universe of Star Wars. Several sources reveal his story as a smuggler and an ally to the Alliance during the events of the galactic Civil War. Shown in several sources (including books, audio dramas and video games) he brings supplies and later joins the battle against the Empire on Hoth. In the old game he is tasked with tracking down Boba Fett, fighting IG-88 and other enemies in order to confront his final nemesis prince Xizor of Black Sun crime syndicate above Coruscant.

Dash Rendar model was made by several users, including sniper wolf, KMan and Toonces. The mod also introduces a variant of BlasTech DL-44 by Major Clod (a similar weapon would be a primary one for Jaden Korr in Jedi academy). The famous ship of Rendar the Outrider also appears in the story as a prefab, created by Rob A. (Adarin).

The original mod was released in 2003, with an updated version became available for Jedi Academy around 2012.
