The ysalamiri is a small, arboreal, salamander-like creature that has the unique ability to push back the Force. It appears in Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith and in the multiplayer mode of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast.
A Ysalimari is a powerup which:
- Prevents all force use by the player carrying it
- Prevents all force being used against the player.

When carried by the player in Capture The Ysalamiri, the ysalamiri makes the possessor immune to the effects of Force powers used against him/her. The ysalamiri also prevents the possessor from using Force powers.
Although this powerup doesn't exist in the base JKA maps, map editors can still place it in their maps. In Jedi Knight 2, this powerup appears in several maps, including Nar Shaddaa Streets (MP) and Massassai Temple.

In Lugormod, players can purchase the Ysalimari Blast skill. This grants the player a Ysalimari powerup, or gives them the ability to target an enemy and use the Ysalimari against them. Additionally, some clan servers in JK2 use the Ysalimari entity as a marker for teleports.
