The Open Jedi Project is an open source mod project consisting of two major release versions: Basic and Enhanced. The OJP source code later served as the basis or starting point for mods such as Gunslinger's Academy, Movie Battles II and Evolution of Combat. OJP is also credited in Jedi Knight Galaxies and JA++.

OJP was initially a group project, with razorace taking the lead.

OJP Basic

OJP Basic is a version of The Open Jedi Project. It was intially released to Filefront on December 10th, 2003. The mod featured CO-OP, new vehicles, and several important bug fixes to the game. The source code was released as part of The Open Jedi Project.

OJP Enhanced

OJP Enhanced is an offshoot of Open Jedi Project, which released on December 10th, 2003. Its source code was made publicly available as part of The Open Jedi Project.

Other than OJP Basic, Enhanced featured a new saber system (which was later tweaked extensively as part of Serenity Saber Systems for Evolution of Combat), Last Man Standing and Instagib (as cvars), and more new content.
