Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors are spending some time on planet Rapah Kdvik, repairing Raven's Claw and planning their future. As a scarcely populated oceanic planet with a few small rocky islands Rapah Kdvik is an ideal place for those who want privacy. Kyle got an offer to use the small villa Lando had won years ago in a game of gamble. After the busy beaches of Spira, Rapah Kdvik is a good place for silent relaxation and meditation. Yet, even before landing on the planet, Kyle had an uneasy feeling that something was going to come up very soon. Sooner than he would have welcomed...

The couple receives an encoded message from Mon Mothma, asking them to investigate an old base, established by a Jedi many years ago, but sought out by the Emperor and later – by Imperial Remnant. As Katarn infiltrates the secret complex, he learns, that the old facility is pretty much intact and is under control by a Dark Jedi, who formerly left the Academy on Yavin IV after his friend was killed by another rogue Jedi – Desann. Kyle also finds a prisoner inside the facility, who explains, that this project can be used to track down the Jedi and every other Force-related being. As the Dark Jedi is struck down, a group of battle droids of the Trade Federation is revealed to be guarding parts of the base with the mysterious Prisoner being the main culprit after all.

The mod includes four maps: bungaloo, lighthouse, lighthouse_2, and lighthouse_3. The first one serves as a cutscene, showing a villa, where Jan and Kyle spend holidays with a view on the ocean. The next three take place inside a large facility, occupied by Imperial forces.

"Project Lighthouse" includes many hard puzzles in addition to moderately hard fighting. To play succesfully through the levels, you should keep in mind the axiom of a linear plot: every room has some meaning, every switch has some functionality (with a couple of obvious exceptions). For this reason a walkthrough written by Simon “Kengo” Williams was included with the pack.

The author advised never to use the "NOCLIP" cheat option with this level, as it could cause "serious instability", because the level design is such that the plot will only proceed, when several spots are passed along the way. This is only possible by following and honouring the architecture. The circumvention of such steps by "NOCLIP" will cause some events not to happen, which may later cause freezing of the game.
