PUG

From Jedi Knight Wiki | JKHub

PUG stands for Pick-Up Game and defines an unofficial method of creating teams of players in team-based gamemodes like Team Deathmatch or Capture The Flag. Players are generally invited to show up beforehand, but unlike exhibition games there is no sense of obligation or commitment to play. Pick-up games usually lack officials and referees, which makes them more disorganized and less structured than regular games.

Usually two players volunteer as captains. These two captains duel each other and then pick players in turns, the winner of the duel being the first allowed to pick. This method can lead to certain controversies because there are usually no rules on who is allowed to become captain, often this is determined only by whoever volunteers first. Also often there are more players on the server than available slots, which can lead to certain players not getting picked and having to wait for a long time until they are allowed to play.

In Jedi Academy, PUGs typically take place on base servers and communities with competitive players.
