Movie Battles II is a Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy modification of the Siege multiplayer mode, with a vast array of character skins and maps, and a new set of class customization that was based off the original Force Points system of Jedi Academy. It also has the bug fixes within The Open Jedi Project and TrueView. It runs on Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh, with Linux serverside. It was originally released on May 14, 2004.

It has three main game modes: Full Authentic, which restricts player models and offers little customization of any kind (But allows for a much varied gameplay), Semi-Authentic, which restricts models, and Open mode, which has minimal restrictions other than class. Open mode on the Duel of Fates map is the most popular choice among server hosts and players due to the balanced layout, use of choke points, and general feel.

Reception

Movie Battles II was very well received, and quickly grew a cult following. It was featured in PC Gamer magazine and was mentioned in a Star Wars videogame roundup at Game Trailers. It's easily the most successful multiplayer Total Conversion to date. In recent years however, public opinion for MB2 has waned due to slow feature addition and in-fighting between the developers and the community.
