Gamefront (formerly known as Filefront) is a side company, part of Break Media, that deals with the distribution of game files, mods, patches and other user based content.
History
Originally named "FileLeech", the company was created by I/O Error Development in 1999. In 2005 it was bought by Ziff Davis Media Game Group. In 2008, the company filed for bankruptcy and the website faced a permanent shut down. Due to this, many staff members began to backup files and data from the network to move them to another spot. However, the webpage would remain active which led many to believe it was all an April Fool's joke.
In 2010, Break Media acquired Filefront and later that year, they renamed it to GameFront
JK3Files
JK3Files is a side community in the FileFront community, which deals with the distribution of mods, files, patches and other user created content for JKA. In the time period of 2004 to 2009, the website saw massive traffic, and files were being uploaded on almost a daily basis. 2009 onward, the site has seen a decrease in traffic, in wake of JKA slowly dying out in the gaming world. By 2013, the site member activity is now at just above 30 people, from a 3000+ member list.
Despite the large in-activity in the site, guests still go to the website to download files from it's massive database. These files are slowly being integrated into the new JKA community, JKHub.
