Activision is a video game publisher that published Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, which were licensed to them by LucasArts and developed by their subsidiary studio Raven Software.
In 2007, Activision purchased Vivendi Software which contained Blizzard Entertainment, and merged their names into Activision Blizzard.
In 2015, Activision purchased Candy Crush developer King.
On January 18, 2022, Microsoft announced that it would be acquiring Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion in an all-cash deal, and in October 2023 the deal finally went through after over a year of deliberations with various agencies around the world.
Notably they are best known for games such as Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Skylanders, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Spyro, with Blizzard games being World of Warcraft and Overwatch.
