Project Lighthouse
Project Lighthouse is a custom Jedi Outcast Single Player campaign. It's a compact packet of about 30MB, featuring 4 levels of which 3 are playable, one being purely cinematic. It contains hard action and harder puzzles. Long cinematic sequences carry the intense plot forward, to an inevitable ending.
The campaign introduces bold villains and a friendly AI. Masterful voice acting was performed by David Bradshaw (who has also played the role of Ryek DeMetz in Kengo's Occupation 2), and the well-known computer specialist Eldritch.
"Kyle and Jan are spending some time on planet Rapah Kdvik, repairing Raven's Claw and planning their future. As a scarcely populated oceanic planet with few small rocky islands Rapah Kdvik is an ideal place for those who want privacy. Kyle got an offer to use the small villa Lando had won years ago in a game of gamble. After the busy beaches of Spira, Rapah Kdvik is a good place for silent relaxation and meditation. Yet, even before landing on the planet, Kyle had an uneasy feeling that something was going to come up very soon. Sooner than he would have welcomed..." - The Readme file

This campaign was intensively beta tested by Kengo, the author of the acclaimed Occupation series, and Clu, the author of the master-piece Colosseum, a Jedi Outcast SP level of outstanding quality and creativity. Additional testing was performed by Wedge and Shotokan.

Project Lighthouse ships with a full walk-through written by Kengo to ensure no-one will get stuck in the middle of the large levels.

Project Lighthouse became famous of the hard puzzles it offers. It contains 15 distinct, separate puzzles of varying familiarity or novelty value. Many of the puzzles are cleverly scripted and demand use of all the abilities inherent to Jedi Knights. In addition to advanced scripting based on variables, the puzzles take advantage of the possibities of the various entities and shader techniques the game offers. Good skills with the lightsaber and fine accuracy with weapons are essential to play through Project Lighthouse, but they alone are not enough.

Project Lighthouse contains third party components from The Prophet, who allowed me to use and adapt his complete bd model packet for Lighthouse. This high-quality model/skin/sound packet allowed me to add a surprise for the player in the form or some additional hard fighting and a memorable cinematic effect.

The original Kyle skin was replaced with an excellent Dark Jedi Kyle skin made by Infinity_Blade. This skin considerably adds character to Kyle and removes the troublesome bantha-herder looks.

Project Lighthouse was reviewed at Map-Review, the biggest JO/JA mapping review site, and received top score of 9.25/10 from Leslie Judge, the reviewer. Here's an excerpt of his impressions of the level:

"Lassev has a good sense of scale. There are places where you can feel that classic Star Wars feeling just because you have to fight in a huge vertical room as the heroes had to in the films." - Leslie Judge of Map-Review

In addition to the main charactes Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors, the hero and heroine of the original game, Project Lighthouse will introduce intriguing NPCs, like the Prisoner...
...and the mysterious Lord Serpent
