      Have you played the Death Star DLC? I think that mode pretty much explains what I expect from a Star Wars game. After playing the Death Star DLC, playing conquest or walker assault felt too generic to be worth the time.

      No high poly. It's meant for a single player experience I'm working on. But once released, all the kitbashers are free to use the mesh to come up with new characters.

      I plan to replace the reapeater. But you can replace any gun you wants just by renaming the files.

      It seems to be the smart choice. I don't really see any other gun playing like the DLT-19.

      I'm going to change the behaviour of almost every gun in my mod anyway. Most of the current JK guns do not feel like Star Wars at all.

  7. Found an app to explore SW Battlefront's assets. Very impressive stuff they've done with the game.

      I think they scanned original film props to achieve that quality.

      Nope, they used scans of the original props for reference but afaik the actual ingame assets were digitally handmade. Not counting Environment stuff, I know that a lot of things were scanned for those.

      I only modeled the helmet. The rest is a mock based off a shadowtrooper, just to tease you. I plan to model the rest based on the Crimsom Empire comic, when I model it.

      In the meantime I've modeled a tie fighter and some Death Star props I intend to share with everyone to use on their maps. I really want to see more single player missions out there.

      I nor I'm sure Corto have just gaming in mind, for me it's secondary. Rendering is the main reason I want speed.

  13. I've submitted a small but neede update of the E-11. Now the shaders are working.

  14. I want to thank all those who jumped in and help me find a solution for the shader not working on my model. Now the blaster looks even better. Specially the scope.

      Cant wait for a update :) The best looking E11 so far! I also like Rooxon Guns and Hilts

       

      I recommend adding the envoirment shader to the scope in some way. Spec shaders are not quite good as this

       

  15. I submitted yet another update for the E-11 rifle. I guess this one will be the stable version for a good while.

      Amazing work!!! I would recommend to change the scope. Maybe add a texture with einvorment. That would be better ;) this is only one thing that bothers me with this masterpiece!

      Yeah. I'm I can accomplish the right effect with shaders. Unfortunately the documentation available is really poor at best and there's no way to preview your changes in real-time. I'll manage though.

  16. New version of the E-11 submitted with a much improved texture. Awaiting approval.

  17. I edited the description of my E-11 download to alert about the issue with the world model. But it looks like I took the download offline. Can someone fix it?

      Updating a file is pretty much like submitting a new mod, so it is marked for review before publishing, at least from what I understand. The only solution is to practice patience and wait. :)

      Seems like it's a Win10 security thing. Right click on the file, go to "Properties" and click on "Unblock" and you should be good.

      Actually got Windows 7 (new pc coming soon), and unblocking the file didn't work.

      All 3d suites have great tools for the job. The point is, the way I've been doing it all this time, was just insane. I have a lot of abandoned models because I didn't want to uv map them.

      True, unwrapping mechanical objects drove me mad because of all the manual edge straightening required.

  22. I was just testing out DarkXL. Just WOW. I can't believe how good it works and how fun is to play the original Dark Forces.

      I can't get the patch to work for me. I don't know why.

      And I love DarkXL, but don't expect the update to fix common problems to be released any time soon. I anticipated an update 4 months ago.

  23. Just tested Archangel's MD3 exporter for Softimage. Works like a charm so far. I'm able to see my E-11 with the MD3 viewer, no problem.

      Lee popped into the jkhub discord channel for a lil bit a while back. To offer some insight on PBR and the best possible workflow for the game, even as far as possible model format changes to get the best result.
