      To me Liniux sucks and is very user UN-friendly... it's like going back to a DOS user interface.

      @Tunk350, of course I have... I sometimes have to use a RedHat Linux workstation at work... and when I have to open a terminal window and start typing a bunch of shit that reminds of DOS-- I say that sucks.

      @Syko - Yep it's so old I hope the cyberHackers wouldn't bother with it. But actually XP64 is derived from Windows server 2003... which support ended on July 2015.

      UPDATE: Root cause of problem was the update to DropBox 3.10.7 (which occurred on 30 Sep)... I found the solution here:

      This issue will likely impact anyone who has Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 OS and DropBox installed.

    So I want to ask the community to do a little brainstorming and propose a concept for how the Raven's Claw carries its cargo (10 metric tons [ 22,046 lbs ]) ...is it all internal? or an external cargo container? or both? Post your ideas in my WIP thread.

    Ok... so I finally received my two 32-Neuron Motion Capture Suits from Noitom ( Perception Neuron: www.neuronmocap.com ) yesterday... I just did my unboxing tonight. Looking forward to capturing new animations!

      @eezstreet -- I will! Also, I purchased a Kinect XBox One sensor and the PC adapter to connect it to my laptop to do facial mocap using Brekel's FacePro & body software ( http://brekel.com/shop/index.php?id_product=13&controller=product ) to drive our Jan Ors facial skeleton GLA project. I've played with the FacePro software a little bit... some cool, good stuff coming in the near future!

    I want to create a couple of EFX tutorials using FumeFX and Afterburner plugins for 3dsMax-- taking those rendered image results from Max and create the EFX using EffectsED... any EffectsED experts want to help me?

    3ds Max Users: As DT85 discovered, vertex normals are broken in v1.8 plugins... even when correcting for the Max-to-XSI coordinate transformation… the original code doesn't compute correct normals. The good news is that I have now fixed the original methods for vertex normals and v1.9 adds new methods for smoothing. The bad news is... any released model exported using the v1.8 plugins must be re-exported using the v1.9 plugins.

    I've just compiled the MD3 (v2.3) and dotXSI 3.0 (v1.9) exporter plug-ins for 3ds Max 2020.  I've sent them to Rooxon for quick beta testing.  Once they check out, I will upload both here to the files section.
