  1. Hi everyone, hope you're all well.... I've been playing the latest Movie Duels and really enjoying it, but I also like to dip my toes into the JO and JA SP campaigns from time to time. The problem is that I detest most of the player and npc models in both games. So like many other I have been replacing the player and npcs with various models I've found (mainly on JKHub), purely for personal use when playing SP. The issue I'm having is trying to convert models from MD to work as a player model. Let's take the luke_crait model for example. I've extracted the folders and files for the model I want to use (models/players/luke_crait), and in the 'luke_crait' folder I've added icon_head_a1, icon_torso_a1 and icon_lower_a1. I've also copied and renamed the model_default.skin file to head_a1, torso_a1 and lower_a1 and added a playerchoice.txt file. So now the folder structure is models/players/new_luke The files in the new_luke folder are: belt.jpg belt_spec.jpg body.jpg body_spec.jpg body2.jpg glove.jpg glove_spec.jpg hair.jpg hair_spec.jpg head.jpg head_a1.skin icon_default.jpg icon_head_a1.jpg icon_lower_a1.jpg icon_torso_a1.jpg lower_a1.skin model.glm model_default.skin playerchoice.txt robe.jpg robe-parts.jpg sounds.cfg torso_a1.skin tunic.jpg The default, head, torso and lower skin files contain the following: head,models/players/new_luke/head.tgahead_hair,models/players/new_luke/hair.tga torso,models/players/new_luke/body.tgatorso_collar,models/players/new_luke/body2.tgar_arm,models/players/new_luke/robe-parts.tgar_hand,models/players/new_luke/glove.tgal_arm,models/players/new_luke/robe-parts.tgal_hand_cuff,models/players/new_luke/body.tgal_hand,models/players/new_luke/body2.tga hips,models/players/new_luke/body.tgahips_belt,models/players/new_luke/belt.tgahips_skirt,models/players/new_luke/tunic.tgal_leg,models/players/new_luke/body2.tgar_leg,models/players/new_luke/body2.tga torso_robe,models/players/new_luke/robe.tgahips_robe,models/players/new_luke/robe.tgal_shoulder_robe,models/players/new_luke/robe-parts.tgar_shoulder_robe,models/players/new_luke/robe-parts.tgatorso_robe_hood,models/players/new_luke/robe-parts.tgahead_robe_hood,*off hips_robecap_torso,*offtorso_robecap_hips,*off head_cap_torso_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgatorso_cap_head_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgatorso_cap_l_arm_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgatorso_cap_r_arm_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgal_arm_cap_torso_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgal_arm_cap_l_hand_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgal_hand_cap_l_arm_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgar_arm_cap_torso_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgar_arm_cap_r_hand_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgar_hand_cap_r_arm_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgahips_cap_torso_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgahips_cap_l_leg_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgahips_cap_r_leg_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgal_leg_cap_hips_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tgar_leg_cap_hips_off,models/players/stormtrooper/caps.tga However, after creating the .pk3 and dropping it into the base folder the only thing showing in the player selection menu is the icon of the model. The model itself is invisible. If anyone could tell me where I've gone wrong, I'd be most grateful. Thanks in advance....
  2. Absolutely love this model. Is there any way to convert it to be used as a player character in Jedi Academy?
  3. Ah..... that'll be why then. Forgot to use Pakscape to create the .pk3. Bloody amateur.... Told you it had been a while. Feel free to ridicule me to your heart's content
  4. Hello, I've recently reinstalled JO/JA and OpenJK for a bit of SW nostalgia. But almost instantly remembered how terrible the SP models were. I've been trying to remember how I replaced the NPCs with various models way back when I used to play. But can't for the life of me, figure it out. Primarily I'd be looking to replace Desann, Tavion and the Reborn in SP. I already have Hapslash's Stormtroopers and Imp Officers which replace their SP counterparts (I'm playing JO through the JA engine), but can't figure out how it's done. For example, I've created an npc file for Desann and pointed it to the Darth Malgus model pk3, put it into an ext_data folder and saved that as a separate pk3 model. My memories a little hazy, but I'm sure it's was something along those lines how I did it in 2003. Anyhow... If someone can explain what I'm doing wrong, explain how to do it properly or point me in the direction of a decent tutorial, I'd be very grateful. I haven't found a relevant tutorial on JKHub. I think there was one, but it doesn't appear to be available now. Many thanks.
