Haven't played it, probably wont until it's less than half the price it is now. Looks like another game where the saber behaves like a stick and not as dangerous as it is in JK2/JA where it passes through everything and even harms enemies in blocking animations.

This is what made TFU so insanely bad, the lightsaber behaved as if it were a glowing bat and not an energy weapon that passes through things causing massive damage to everything it touches.

Really that excuse is really bad.

By that logic you can call Devil May Cry a bad game since the swords are just baseball bats that you hit the enemies until they die.(And you have to like hit them 10-20 times until they decide to die)

Also In JK games lightsabers were actually behaved like glowing bats when you fight dark jedis.(Unless you increased the dismemberment of lightsabers which then will turn it into a "Whoever lightsaber throws first wins")

Too bad no Coruscant or alive cities in this game.

As whole, I believe that Disney and Lucasfilm aren't fans of Prequel era cities in Star Wars for some reason ever since George Lucas left.

Guess they just listened to those "Prequels are bad!" complains and decided to make their Star Wars products more and more fan servicey.

  3. Also I hated this that in the end of the game:

You couldn't even fight Vader at all.

It's like when the writers reached this part, the higher ups told them "Make Vader appear Badass ! We don't want Vader fans invade us for making him appear weak !"

Luke in episode 6 with much less training managed to beat  and overpower Vader by his anger. So Cal whom had much more training(And could fight At STs and bunch of stormtroopers) should have been able to defeat Vader.

Sadly we didn't saw that due to Vader fanboys that don't want to admit that Vader is actually a broken man that is being imprisoned in a suit that weakens him.

Then go play those games. That's such a shitty way of looking at games, to be honest. Every game that has ever existed has borrowed from past games, inspired by what other developers have done. By your logic, you should only be playing the games that did those specific things first. It's like saying any FPS game made after Doom shouldn't be bothered with. The exploration of this game was the best part about it to me. We've never had a Star Wars game with those elements before, and it was the core part of the whole plot: exploring to find answers.

Yeah it's shitty to expect getting a great Star Wars game. You may as well say that Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3 made a good choice of adding awful on foot sections even though that completely dragged the game down and killed the franchise.

The exploration sections of JFO added nothing to the game really. Other than adding more backtracking and making the game harder to be replayed.(JFO should not have been a Metroid Prime clone in exploration sections)

When developers make games they shouldn't just throw every idea at the game.

Sounds like you're trying to force the game to be something it's not. Play it on a difficulty that you will enjoy, don't compare it to other games so much.

All of those sections you listed are elements seen in so many games over the history of gaming, and they were great in this game too. Not sure what you want me to say about them, they are pretty standard for action adventure games.

Unfortunately, the lightsaber combat of this game can be compared to other Jedi Action games. JFO really had too much issues in that aspect compare to previous jedi type games. In JO and JA when you begin fighting a Jedi type enemy, the gunners will stop shooting at you because that would make the game too unbalanced. But on the other hand in JFO enemies just shoot at you any moment to kill you. When Cal dies by few hits the game should be completely balanced.

And those exploration sections are just in the way of combat imo. There is too much exploration compare to combat. Not saying that it shouldn't have any, but in jedi action type games exploration shouldn't have that much focus. If I wanted to climb the walls and raid tombs I would have played a Tomb Raider game instead of a Jedi Action game. That is the main reason on why Jedi Knight games and TFU games never had that much exploration sections because the developers knew what type of game they should actually make.

You can lower the difficulty at any time. If you choose to put yourself through a frustrating experience, that's on you. Not sure what sections you're referring to.

I played on hardest since that is the only way to see the combat in it's full potential. It's not my fault that combat isn't that good.(On the other hand TFU and JK games on hardest difficulty are far more enjoyable and fair.)

I meant the sections where you have to :

    -Do platforming sections

    -Run On Walls

    -Swim underwater

    -solve some puzzles

    -Raid some tombs

-Climb on the ropes and swing from them to jump on another platform

I suppose I'll give a little review of it.

Overall I really liked it. I generally hate games with dodge/roll combat and enemies with giant health bars, but I played it on the lowest difficulty and it wasn't bad at all.

Lucky you. I played on hardest difficulty and it was one of the most frustrating experiences I ever had with a star wars game.(I have made the list of all of it's issues)

Btw, what did you think of Tomb Raider and Prince Of Persia sections of the game ?

You didn't talk about them in your post.

  8. I played it. Imo the game is good and in story is better than JO and JA but it has it's own issues:

1.It has exploration parts that no one wants in jedi type games. This is a main reason on why underwater swimming and rope climbing  were rarely in Star Wars movies and JK and TFU games.

2.It's combat has some nice ideas but it has lots of issues and balance issues.(Played on hardest difficulty)

    Quote

1.Some enemies don't even feel pain at all when you are attacking them during their attack animations.(It feels like you are punching Superman a moment before he punches you. Enemies should feel a pain at very least when you are attacking them by a lightsaber.)

2.When a group of enemies attack you, they can attack you from different directions and cancel your attacks with every hit. It also has this issue that they can stuck you in a corner that can allow them to kill you easily.

3.Enemies can stuck you with their constant attacks without anyway for you to escape.(Which results in either losing lots of HP or dying.)

4.Refilling HP puts you in disadvantage which can get annoying Sometimes.

5.Last bossfight has a death move that can kill you even when your HP is full.

6.XP system is annoying. The game takes your XP from you when you die And gives them to the enemy that killed you. It has this issue that all of it will be lost when you are killed by another enemy when you have a tiny XP.
This system doesn't make the game really harder or more challenging. It just encourages players to kill enemies near the meditation circles and just respawning them until you get the amount of skill points that you need. This system just makes the game annoying.

Instead of this they should have made it like TFU where you won't lose any XP when you die but gave players less XP when defeating enemies and gave players some XP when opening chests.(It annoyed me that chests where just character reskins)

7.Enemies have some invisible boundaries defined for them. When they reach the boundry, they will just walk back which by using this you can kill them easily.

8.When you die in bossfight battles the game teleport you back to the meditation circle forcing you to have some unnecessary walking.

9.The enemies that have you XP will have a glowing yellow light around them that can confuse you when they are attacking with an unblockable move.

10.The game doesn't have any way of telling you if you can handle some harder enemies at the first of the game.(So you end up getting killed sometimes due to this.)

3.you can't skip cutscenes and there is no fast travel option so RIP to replay value.

    4.Stuttering issues.

imo TFU and JK have far less issues in their gameplay compare to JFO.

  9. This movie has lots of issues. It's one of the worst Star Wars movies of all time.

-Rey and Kylo suddenly get this ability to teleport items to each others.

-Rey easily heals the piercing wound of Kylo even though that it's not the way force heal works.

-Rey damages Kylo's ship with a lightsaber which makes it to explode but nothing happens to Kylo at all.

-Luke's force ghost manages to catch the lightsaber and lift his X Wing. This idea completely ruins the OT.(Since Obi Wan could help rebellion in a lot of battles)

-You have a scene that rebellions board the empire star destroyer by landing on it's hull. It was so stupid.

-Rey and 3PO's death scenes looked good. But then the movie just ruined them few minutes later.

-Rey never sensed that Chewbacca was captured. She also never sensed that he wasn't in that ship that got blown up. But later she easily senses chewie inside the star destroyer.

-Rey shouldn't kill Palpatine because she will become the next sith. But reflecting emperor's lightning at himself is ok.

-Now star destroyers could have a laser gun to destroy an entire planet. As stupid as it sounds, they never use this weapon to destroy rebels cruisers with that.

When I was watching it, I began enjoying the stupid moments more than the movie itself.(Since they made me laugh a lot.)

I never thought that anyone could make a sequel to Batman And Robin movie.

  10. JA combat works well when you are fighting lightsaber wielding enemies. But JFO is set between episodes 3 and 4.(Dark Times) The time where the heroes should fight stormtroopers 99 percent of the time since Jedis and dark jedis are rare in that era.

-Imo JA combat isn't a good when you are fighting stormtroopers because majority of the time stormtroopers just stand in 1 place and shoot.

Why they just stand and shoot ? That's because if they had more movements getting them would have been too annoying.(Then you would have stormtroopers keep firing at you while running backwards which would look stupid.)

-Also button mashing lightsaber combat(Which was in Episode 1 & 3 games and TFU 1&2) works better when fighting stormtroopers in Jedi Action games:

1.You don't have to aim your blows to actually hit enemies. When you are in range, the playable character can blow the attack without any problem.(In JA sometimes attacking a standing stormtrooper is a little annoying since you just want to cut them like butter and your attacks may not hit them.)

2.Button mashing lightsaber combat also has faster attacks which is an advantage.(In JA there were some times when the stormtroopers instantly killed me for firing at the same time that I pressed the attack button.)

  11. A new gameplay video is out.(Just search since I don't wanna look it)

BTW those people that are just calling this game's lightsaber combat awful remind me of those OT fans that love to hate every SW thing that came after 1983.(But at least they are better than those other guys that wanted to play as a Hutt instead of a white male human.)
