  1. The error doesn't refer to the fact that there are split meshes at UV seams - it is instead telling you to do that to export the model correctly. Basically run through all the edges of the UV islands in UV/Image Editor of the meshes affected by the problem, making sure to check Keep UV and edit mode mesh selection in sync, then, once the edges are selected, click on Mesh -> Edges -> Edge split. That should do the trick.

You can do it even faster (in Blender) by selecting one red edge (seam) in Default view -> Shift+G -> Seam -> Ctrl+E -> Edge split. No need to select all those edges manually!

  2. No way, I love the add-on you did! One of the first things I tried to do when learning how to use blender was to create different goggles and hats, but yours look so great! If you decide to release some of thsi stuff for the public and as something that other modders can use, it'd be a great contribution to the community!

  4. I heard @@bert is converting models, so yeah.

If he isn't then I apologize for the tagging.

I am, but this would be a player model, which would require cutting to pieces (for dismemberment), creating caps (same reason) and rigging. And rigging is a b**ch. I did it once for a model from SW:KotOR (not even whole model) and it took me better part of two days to achieve some "meh" results.

    Looks cool, tho:

  5. Are the original .XSI files available? Can you contact the original author and get them? Or better yet the original 3ds Max (Or Softimage) files?

It's not available. This model was a part of original Open Jedi Project mod and it was made by Chairwalker years ago. No contact info, unfortunately.
