    Other models

    Hi! I desided to make this topic to post screens of our other md3 models (not swoops/ships) which we made for our add-on. So there are some models, which I made for my Dark Forces II mod and which we decided to use in The Dark Pastime. You might have seen already the models of motorboat and holocomm from DF2 in other topics. Here are models of crates. NumberWan made a greate job by creating new textures for them.

    Twi'lek male

    Hi! No problems: face head lekku We didnt use anything from KOTOR either mesh or textures. Also this is a rare case where I took a part in drawing textures and draw face texture, partly change head and lekku textures. There is also NumberWan's variant of a twilekk male (textures) and it looks different.

Well clan swoop is driveable for sure) We can consider of making RGC-16 airspeeder and V-35 Courier driveable, though we didn't make any guns on those speeders, so I don't know where such vehicles can be used... We are not going to make Home and 9000 Z001 landspeeder flyable, we are using those models as a part of environment.
  7. Thank you all! I am not sure what do you mean by an explorable interior, but there is just a hangar where you can put some ships or cargo, its empty by default: Anyway it won't be shown much in game)
  8. Hi everyone! "Md3 models" section has been empty for some time, so we think it's time to start a new topic here to show some md3 models that we made for our mod. 1. The republic star cruiser "Home V". 2.RGC-16 airspeeder. 3. Clan swoop. (Well, that's actually a .glm model, but there is an md3 version too) 4.V-35 Courier. 5. 9000 Z001 landspeeder.

    Twi'lek male

    Hi all! I know that we didn't post much lately about our add-on, so we think it's time to post something new))) Here we go - a twi'lek male: We decided to make the twi'lek male model look like twi'leks from KOTOR game. But there will be variations of model skins and some of them will be look a little different. Also it's a beta version and may be changed (I'm thinking of adding some polys to it, mostly on lekku).

  11. Gmax can import 3ds files though I admit that Gmax can import it with errors or even not import file at all. You can find an .obj import script for Gmax and try to import your model, thought it can also not import anything. So I may suggest to not rely on Gmax and look for other programs which support .md3 export like for example Milkshape 3d or 3d object converter, both require payment, but i think you can install trial versions and try them out. Or you can make all your models, then install a trial 30-day version of 3dsmax, find an md3 exporter for it and export all your models. I guess there is also a free full version of 3dsmax for students, but it requires some registrarion, cant tell you much of that 'cause I've never used it.
  12. Just wanted to say that I checked tag_parent and tag_flash (everything exports right), but I see your tag export problem is solved... well, nevermind then)
  13. Why do you think that Gmax doesnt support tags? I just made a simple cylinder(UVW mapped it), added a tag_blade1 and exported it. Everything shows right in MD3View. I saved model as glm and loaded it in ModView - everything is okey here too, tag_blade is shown in tag surfaces section. Didnt try it in game though... Btw I used exporter by Chris Cookson, not sure about version (its shows "Export MD3 v1.0 by Pop N Fresh").
  14. Hi all! Wanna ask ask your opinion again! As you probably know the first level of our add-on is an imperial dreadnaught where Kyle fights against stormtroopers, navy troopers and imperial officers. But should there be neutral npcs? I mean technicians who fixing everything around, welding staff and so on? Or all the npcs on an enemy ship should be our enemies and try to fight Kyle? Right now we got technicians on the level, they don't take any notice of Kyle but if Kyle shoots them they raise their hands in surrender... NumberWan and some other people thinks its strange that they don't attack us... I think that we have enough enemies and there should be neutrals just for an environment, though I wanted to make them afraid of Kyle and if Kyle gets close enough to them they start to cower and try to run away (like jawas in Tatooine level), but I couldn't do that yet. What do you think?

    Thanks! Yea, there are not only x-wings in the Ord Mantell skies. I put there some ships, not a heavy traffic but and also not an abandoned planet: We try to fill skies with some environment when it's needed, for expamle a battle: or some city traffic:

    Update (sorry for double post). So after many thoughts of Ord Mantell sky and trying different variations we decided to stop on this one: So it's more like our old variant but more lighter, clouds are more transparent and I hope now it feels more like it's a sunny noon. For those who likes more darker sky I can tell dont worry, there will be at least one level with dark stormy sky

I dont know I remember I tried to create an account in Autodesk to get educational version of 3dsMax. but I stopped somewhere where I should name my school,or university, some URLs and staff like that... So now I use Gmax (for md3's) and XSI mod tools (for gla/glm's) *Sigh* I would be glad if anyone could make normal md3 exporter for Gmax... Btw, I'm curious, is it possible to make your roff exporter script to work in Gmax or it would involve some total remake of your script?
  19. That was so strange)) Staring a level and instead of starry sky - my video and yellow text crawling on it))) Well everything went fine, no loading problems. When my video ended it just stopped at last frame and text just keep on crawling...
