    I do somewhat feel sad, at how the internet has changed. No longer do most people use forums, now it is all on discord. If you want status updates on mods, most of it will be on the discord servers. 

    Things in the world have changed so much, but I'm glad to see this community is still here. I do believe the JKA community needs one more mod. A mod that is based around Base JKA, and works to preserve as many of it's maps, models, and other content as best as possible. To preserve it's content for future generations who stumble upon this game, they should have a mod with all it's content ready to go. Only mod I know that comes close to that is KoTF 2.1 by Fire Phoenix (galactic legacy is focusing more on only star wars now).

      I understand, and I may come back to Galacy Legacy later on, I'm still checking it every once in awhile. I just didn't agree with removing country academy, I really liked that map. I do agree wtih removing the MBII maps though.

      I know KoTF 2.1 wasn't intended to be a archive mod, but when I want to show people a ton of JKAs content and maps, and give them one simple download, that's where I direct them to. I'm not big into Galactic Legacy, as they are focusing mostly on SP content over MP, and they removed non star wars maps, which is a problem for me.

       

      pcgamemods was long dead before I even arrived to the JKA scene sadly, but I know some of those maps made it onto DGS maps, which unfortunately is now also dead. There is also jediholo, which has many assets as well.

       

      You're right, one massive mod isn't needed to keep those mods alive. HOWEVER, it would certainly help safeguard the mods contained within it to guarantee survival, as more people are likely to download that one file, instead of downloading the entire archive of JKA's mods.

    Just found a video on youtube about blue ice twilight, memories flooding back decided to pay a visit. Looks like the jedi haven't taken ovah this site yet.

      Man it's been over 8 years since this site was first created. I'll never forget the fond memories of JKA.

      Original art shall live on. People will always come back to JKA, sooner or later. You know, we really need to start a JK preservation project. To make one directory and preserve a ton of maps.

      Open source, AMD's open source has gotten ALOT better recently, apparently AMD is actually helping work on them. Nvidia is still best on vendor though.

    Just got Jedi Academy working on Arch Linux via openJK. UNLIMITED POWAH!!!!!

      I installed linux mint (based on ubuntu) and despite people saying it's more stable than arch, I've had more problems with it. If you ever plan to reinstall arch, I recommend antergos, it's what im using, lightweight, gfx drivers installed for you, works out of the box.

    the other day watching ESB I noticed in the junk disposal room with the ugnaughts (where chewie recovers C-3PO) that there was droid identical to 4-LOM. If Boba fett took out Ig-88b maybe he got 4-LOM aswell.

      Ah I was mistaken, for some reason I thought he was on bespin. I think it was because when I first heard of it, it had a fan art picture of 4-lom being destroyed on what looked like cloud city.

      Well sort of, his partner zuckuss picked his remains up later and rebuilt him, but he lost all his memories, and eventually they grew apart.
