Take political correctness and throw it in the garbage where it belongs.

@eezstreet I don't follow them because their posts were obnoxious. And that completely is straying from the important part of this. I see these phonies taking advantage of something that people are really dealing with, and it's not right. I have nothing against lgbtq people but it bothers me when someone starts running around attacking everyone that is "cis" and calling them insensitive jerks.

Softimage is pretty much always running these days.

Ever heard of VirtualBox? Put any professional software that you need that doesn't exist for Linux in a virtual Windows box. Problem solved. I currently have a JKA modding box (used it for creating the Ahsoka model), and a Photoshop box. They're like working environments for that specific task. I have the virtual boxes directly accessing related files and folders on my actual drive. Just make sure you have at least 5GB of RAM, and lots of storage -- but that's not so hard to co...

It costs a little in performance, but the benefit you get is that your OS and primary working environment does not clutter and slow down. The virtual boxes are running isolated from the rest of the system. You can then install any tool you need in there, no matter how crummy the software. If you're doing regular backups, you can just restore an earlier version of the box if things go sour in Windows.

New animation rig waiting approval, if you're still making animations with Dragon then you probably only just discovered fire.

Oh yeah, blender can save GLA but I don't think anyone has taken the time to make a biped for JA in that, most people using it just kitbash models so their knowledge of the program is probably very limited. Softimage EXPORTS dotXSI but does not save it directly, it's not a scene file, the scene files are .EXP. It of course supports a handful of other formats for source engine, cry engine, unreal engine and other formats for file exchange between other softwares.

One huge thing I forgot, Dragon CANNOT create anything, only make animations for an existing skeleton. I can create whatever I want. Oh and yes, there is a tutorial by me how to get an animation into the game. It's a tiny bit out dated only because the rig has gone through a lot of changes but any Softimage tutorial can teach you the basics of animation.

It seems that eezstreet is as hooked on GTA:SA as me O_O

Found a original 1983 VHS copy of Return of the Jedi at GoodWill for $0.50

I can't believe there are people out there that think it's ok to have Hayden Christensen as a ghost at the end of RotJ.
-
If you don't have the entire Jedi Knight collection get on steam right now, there is no excuse why you can't afford $5 USD for all the games or only $1-$3 for each individual title.

Been going crazy with PS2 modding, running backups, using a USB drive to transfer saves and using an old IDE drive to save games to. Bye bye dics.

Yeah, Front Mission 4 works but it can be very laggy when the attack animations play as well as really messed up shadows. Tried some suggestions from others but for some reason I could never resolve it. I would like to try the netplay though with my friend only because netplay is no longer possible and it's Front Mission 5 which was Japan only, somehow someone modded the .iso so it has English subs as well as menus.

Seriously considering buying a Wacom Cintiq since they aren't as expensive as they used to be.

Actually i dont find it difficult, i have the medium version and it covers the screen range just fine. I know some have mentioned they didnt like working on their over sized intuos, makes the extra hand traveling unecessary and tiring. Maybe if i tried one i'd find it better and would dump my relic.

Is it just me or can anyone else not be bothered to wade through these massive WIP threads?

Most of the WIP threads seem to be from kitbashers (like myself). I can't speak for the others, but the reason I made a collective thread was because Blender made kitbashing so easy, the sheer quantity of WIPs I was able to produce in a short amount of time made it feel inappropriate to clog up the sub-forum with dozens of different threads.
I do believe significant projects (a from-scratch 3D model, a brand new map, etc) are still very much deserving of their own threads.

I'm going to go crazy trying to solve this driver issue...

You use AMD, Mini? Try using this.
https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows+10+-+64
It always works for me.

Hmm... that Windows 10 sure seems like more trouble than it's worth -- drivers misbehaving everywhere... :/
It could be that it was just an OpenGL rendering issue in Windows 10, as you say, but it sounds more to me like a Softimage compatibility bug (with Windows 10). I thought it was something more recognisable and general 3D rendering related, but this way it could be anything, really.
Glad to know it works now.

About to invest $160 on a almost 17 year old console that only cost $199 at launch to hook it up to my TV. XD

Archangel, look at Ping, he knows what's up. The Dreamcast is a great console with great titles. There are older consoles out there that people go crazy over that aren't half as good as it. Definitely superior to a PSX or N64 which were it's competition at launch. I recently bought "Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver" for it and was blown away by the visuals being more than twice as good as the PSX or PC versions.
