  1. GONE INACTIVE on account of being a victim of discrimination by ableist members and being repeatedly psychologically abused on these forums.

  2. Apparently official days and events/celebrations appointed by the United Nations are not welcome here... Way to go, JKHub... (How low can you sink?) >.<'

That's not even close to being true. The discussion just got out of hand.

  6. I love it how Disney claims to want to bring their own, unique flavour of Star Wars, but then go ahead and base all their Star Wars films on previously released content and characters, rehashing it/them, and attempting to write no completely original stories whatsoever. >.<'

Moraband, also known as Korriban. -From the Wiki.

They added Moraband for god knows what, but it's still Korriban. Besides, using Ralph McQuarrie's concept art for some character (Zeb, that you're talking about) and re purposing it is not bad, it's quite the contrary! Zeb was the original art for wookies, which instead were turned into some other species that exists. I don't see the problem with that.

    4. Cerez

      Cerez

Korriban's name was changed to Moraband because George felt that that name suited his original concept of the planet/world better. It was at his personal request that it was changed, or, rather, appended as an alternative name. Note how nothing else about the at that time already established planet (popular in EU) was changed -- shows respect for the fans (as I'm sure he had quite a few personal gripes with it since he didn't get to write/describe/create it in detail himself).

  7. The NintenDON'T-Switch has arrived to Australia. Yeesh... that thing... >.<' I remember a time when Nintendo used to make practical gaming things. I guess putting Sega out of the competition didn't do them any good after all...

      maybe some Sega emulators?

    3. minilogoguy18

      minilogoguy18

When I emulate I like to have a controller that is either spot on or close and the last few sega consoles were like nintendo consoles in which they had unique controllers where sony and microsoft controllers are very similar to a generic PC gamepad. I also still own a sega DC so no need to emulate that since those consoles had no way to check for authentic game discs so burning games is no big deal.

    4. minilogoguy18

      minilogoguy18

I will say though despite nintendo having odd controllers for the N64 and GC I couldn't imagine playing any games on those consoles using a different controller, they somehow worked so well for the games you played despite how odd they looked.

  12. Hmm... in light of my new findings, The Force Awakens is actually not a bad movie at all. Sure it's not OT, but it's not that far off. It will all come together in the sequel this year. The problem was that they kept the first installment way too hush-hush in the series, afraid to give away any plot points at all. The story is actually not that bad.

...black smoke. So that would explain why looking into it Finn never got a confirmation. But the movie goes into extra effort to convince us that he is truly dead (the explosion). In storywriting that is called cheating the reader/audience -- to have no reason to call back a character, and then have them pop up as a surprise later, out of the blue. It may be possible that the fill-ins the first movie makes sense, but it's still far from a balanced movie/story IMHO.

Oh absolutely! Poe was most certainly meant to die, but the actor convinced JJ to write him back in. Is it incredibly odd? Definitely.

    4. Cerez

      Cerez

Hmm... Somehow I don't think it was the actor... (Merchandise... *hint-hint*. Imagine if you had different pilots for each feat of bravery? It just wouldn't do... We need an icon! Something people can relate to... and buy...) But that's beside the point, really.

  13. After experiencing the excitement of Star Wars: The Farce Awakens, I look forward to watching Star Wars: The Last Joke, and I wonder what the third installment in the series, Star Wars: Failure Complete, will have in store for us. I also liked Ragtag One - A Star Wars Stooge. Mighty moving story. Real Star Wars. <3

  14. Star Wars: The Last Jedi? o.O This just keeps getting better and better... The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi -- seriously, which of these does not sound like a crummy fan fiction title? Who comes up with these??

Well, agree on everything about Ahsoka except for her familiar face :) Actually if we dig deeper in her persona, especially in Season 1 – she exactly what a Jedi wouldn't be. That's what Yoda says in Episode V, that a Jedi never seeks adventures. This however can work in a peculiar way: Anakin was a lot into adventure and admiration of life, so was Ahsoka, who took a lot from her Master. Yoda, seeing this in the past, retells the story to Luke on Dagobah. But still this is my speculat...

    3. Cerez

      Cerez

She's not familiar because she is a good Jedi -- quite on the contrary, she is familiar because she is like us: a Jedi wannabe/learner, who tries hard, but just can't seem to fit in fully. The fact that Anakin, who doesn't exactly follow tradition, is her Master only complicates things. But in her honest heart Ahsoka tries her best to be a responsible and noble Jedi -- which is why I find myself admiring her efforts and her predicament. She is essentially an underdog in Anakin...

Anakin's story, as well as a true companion, and an inciting incident at the turning point.

  15. Why is it every time I post about a cultural/social issue (related to Star Wars), it devolves into people snapping at each other? I want to have a full thread with a civil discussion of differing views for once! Please!

  16. I'm announcing, privately, that I think finishing (HS's and IB's) Leia Organa will be my last JKHub modding project. Despite its popularity, Star Wars has devolved from space opera to soap opera (in my eyes) over the last couple of years, and it has lost me. I will be turning my focus away from Star Wars, and onto my own personal projects.

If you ever go back to modding, I suppose you could make a Jedi Leia model, if only to say 'Fuck you' to Disney.

    3. Cerez

      Cerez

Hahaha, love it! :D Well, that is kinda what HapSlash has created, and what I'm working on finishing. It's Leia in a light and mobile military suit, wielding a lightsaber. The only thing closest to it would be Leia in Jedi clothes, but not even Luke wears traditional Jedi clothes in the EU/JKA -- they're past that traditional era. Not to mention that that would be an easy kitbash to achieve after I'm done with rigging.

I'm concentrating on the ESB/Hoth outfit, as it seems most fitting for JKA combat purposes, but I'll leave the ANH outfit in as well (as a secret/hidden option).

    3. Cerez

      Cerez

@minilogoguy18 Thanks. I'm hoping I can use IB's work as a base, if I can import the whole rig into Blender, and export it into what's needed successfully. That'll definitely save some time, and there's no point completely redoing what's already been done. But if not, I'll have to redo the whole weighting from scratch.

    4. minilogoguy18

      minilogoguy18

Try out the weight painter, it's not as good as Softimage's weight paint tools but it's much faster than doing it manually.

  20. I think it's time for a decent young Leia model to be created (finally!) for JKA. And I don't mean in the slave bikini outfit.

HapSlash once came very close, but her mouth and eyelids were never rigged. It may be a possibility with our recent Blender tools to touch up that one.

Y-yepp... The reason many people are affected is because her life's work stood for something -- and on that note it *still* stands! That, and we grew up with her portrayed characters, and her work.

  23. When people say we've had no good Star Wars games, they are wrong. We've had Dark Forces, and we've had KOTOR -- both brilliant games that pushed the creative boundaries of what was possible in a video game.

What I did like about the old games, is that the developers had limits but still they were creative. Every detail in level design has sort of duplicity of perception: you are open to treat them the way you like. E.g. in DF2 Nar Shaddaa is not just a city level, but also includes a staship section, as well as cargo transport at the distance.
