      Made a quick test in Blender, renaming a few meshes, and indeed it seems to automatically fix up some things, so it's not possible that way. I guess the only way to achieve it is coding it.

      I'm not sure. I guess that theoretically you could assign a specific Ghoul2 name for each mesh of each LOD, and write the .skin file accordingly, but I'm not sure it would work in practice.

    A bit of an unrelated JKA modding question, but are .str files typically string files? I am trying to open .str files from another game, but they don't respond to text editors like wordpad.
