The name itself actually wasn't in mind when it was picked, plus in my opinion it sounded 100x nicer then our predecessors.

Let's tone things down in here. This is an introduction thread not a debate to whether or not a name is good or bad.

Maybe I should create a fanfic game about Stalin and thereby inspire kids who know nothing about history to make clans in JKA with names like Nomenklatura Stalina. Do you not realize how cringy it is to name your clan after Lavinia, even more so if you picked up the reference from some third party and put it into somesort of martial context by adding "legion" or "corps" next to it? Lavinia had nothing to do with martial prowess, the name you use is almost oxymoronic.

The name we use has nothing to do with Lavinia herself.

The clan has nothing to do with JKA itself.

Ah ok, in that case I did make a mistake and take back what i said. There are a few people who use a shared account that is named after their clan to advertise their stuff here. LavCorps is perfectly ok in that case, unless it does refer back to Lavinia (and thereby to your clan name), which would make it pretty terrible for the reasons already stated.

"LavCorps" is technically something from The Lavinian Legion, but it's more recreational and "away time" for the people there.

Plus it's just an awesome username.

That's a really weird name to give your clan, given...Lavinia. Just sayin. I guess the name rolls off the tongue well.

I honestly just liked the flow of that word. It went nice and smooth.

There's actually a whole other reason why I liked that name, but unless anyone's up for story-telling, I won't say it.

It doesn't help that their shorthandle 'LavCorps' is homophone with 'LoveCorps', making it sound like something from the Care Bears.

If you're trying to insult the names I picked, you're doing a poor job at it.

I kept having issues with not only with Grendel Hosting, but my damn 'free' domains as well. Time to get a job, order a real domain, and order @@Caelum's webhosting and rid of the bullshit.

In the meantime, we're sitting on our butts over at Koding.

Horizon Studios is using Grendel Hosting.

 

We get free hosting with Unlimited Bandwidth and Unlimited Space but we have a limit on CPU, that limit is actually high and we have only exceeded it a few times and when we do the site goes offline for only a few hours (like 8-12 hours) so its no biggie. However, if your like me and are doing template editing all day you can easily max out your daily CPU limits.  AFAIK, the CPU Limits reset every day.

 

I recommend Grendel Hosting if your looking for minor limits on your webhosting. 

Or you can use a potato to host your server, which is just as reliable.

I wasn't blackmailing you, at all and that's not even what happened. This is irrelevant to the conversation BTW (as it has nothing to do with downtime). I initiated the redirect to fix minor errors with the html. It was a simple cpanel redirect to the main index. The redirect was removed an hour after I finished, and later all you had to do was clear your cache and refresh.

I certainly am not mad at Hosting Beam. Honestly it is kinda really funny. 

Hehe. Merek was certainly pissed at Hosting Beam. He was ranting and raving a lot of the time I was on Steam.

How did you fix it? Last I knew, you were using it to blackmail me to work harder.

Even though I had clear and full access to the site via FTP before... *gestures helplessly around me* THIS happened.

I personally was worried about my HTML website, because Koding kind of had nothing short of a 'heart attack' which involved me loosing a payload of data.

Okay. The backup from August should be fine, considering merek screwed up my HTML website so it redirects to the main index.

Soo, uh... on a scale of one to ten, can I get a chance of Merek getting his website back? because the ONLY backup of my old SCG website is there...
