JKHub changelog

Recommended Posts

And here I was wondering why the K and C in "JKCommunity" in the ad I posted weren't capitalized :P I was thinking it was user-error.

  • Implemented new ports policy (as per https://jkhub.org/topic/9635-our-ports-policy-is-so-bad/) - rewrote blurb on rules page about ported content, and changed the reminder message when you submit a file. I plan to make some more extensive changes to both the rules and the file submission pages soonish for user-friendliness, but will be abroad traveling for a bit first.

  • Renamed "Ideas & Issues" forum to "JKHub Feedback & Discussions". I'm not quite happy with that name because it's sort of a mouthful - tell me if you have a better idea for what to call it - but people kept posting modding/JKA/etc ideas and issues in this section in error.

Hey Caelum, I think there might be a bug related to notifications. I noticed the cap is at 30 (since I didn't bother to see them) and I realized whenever I check my PMs, some of them start to disappear. Yesterday I had 30 notifications and after seeing my PMs they turned to 28. Today they were 30 and after checking my PMs they became 25.

If they're very old notifications: notifications expire automatically after 3 months to keep the database from growing to an ungodly size. I just doubled the notification limit to 60 just because I could though; I wouldn't be surprised if notification counting becomes a little screwy if you hit the cap.

  • The tutorials section is now a forum category instead of an entirely separate system, to enable a migration to the new backend software without losing all our tutorials. Special thanks to Circa and Ashura for their massive amounts of help manually copying, pasting, and fixing every single tutorial we have.

Bet you didn't expect a post here, considering I've mostly been working on the new backend software (public demo available here).

  • Added a bunch of caching to make pages load noticeably faster
  • Embedded plain-http images in pages/posts now no longer break https (and the green lock icon) - they're automatically upgraded to https.
  • JKHub's cookies are now more secure
  • Added additional security measure to protect users from clickjacking attacks
