HELP IM HAVing trouble having my SFX MOD TO work

Recommended Posts

It sounds to me like he's making sounds for a saber, only the saber model only plays base JKA saber sounds.

So a few things:

1. When you load the saber, are there any errors in the cheat console?

2. Have you forced the saber to use the custom sounds in the .sab file of the saber?

Very important to get answers to these.

Hi there, im new here and have 1 or 2 Questions about the Soundfiles in JK:A

I made a Mod that exchanges most of the Ambient Sounds found in "assets0.pk3" and most of them Work right away, (Remade them with better Samples and in 44khz)

First Question: Can i save Mp3s and Wave files both in 44khz? or do they have to be 22khz like some Original files?

Second Question: This ones for Wave only, do they have to be 16bit, 24bit or 32bit?

"cockpit_steady.wav" - Is one of these Sounds i dont get to work ingame, some others are a bit too quiet but thats not a real problem and easely fixed.

Sorry if this abit off topic, didnt wanted to create a whole new thread for one question :)

Here are two little Sound demos, first link is without my Mod for comparison.

There's an easy solution: use Audacity.

Extract the official songs you want to replace from the game assets. Then in Audacity do File>Import>Audio then import the extracted song. It will tell you if it's mono or stereo, what bit it is, and what hz it is.

Audacity can save the hz as wav or mp3. You just do a File>Export>Audio. Sometimes the game can get picky with sounds, which require a specific file extension and parameters, i.e. wav, 16 bit, 44100hz, mono (that is for any modified saber hum sound). Once you find out the parameters for the official assets audio, you can make those same parameters for your modified audio, and the game should pick it up the same as the original.

I already use Audacity, opened them all up again and checked the files that i modified but thanks for the specific info about the Wave files.
Some where at 48khz, after i set them down to 44khz it worked just fine, so the error was on my side x)

I uploaded my "Mod" if somebody wanna give it a try, im open for any feedback but its unfinished, looping audios may not be perfect

It all sounds very complicated by how you're describing the problems. Send me everything you have, and I'll check it all over and see what's up with it.

so this is my first time modding and im just making a Saber sounds mod

every time i load the pk3 i hear the defult sounds and not the new sounds

See my quote at the top.
