Sonic the Hedgehog and Caliburn (Port)

Recommended Posts

This is for the sword only: https://www.models-resource.com/wii/sonicandtheblackknight/model/9857/

And this is the model that I'd like ported: https://www.models-resource.com/wii_u/supersmashbrosforwiiu/model/10116/

Furthermore, if that isn't a good model to work with of Sonic: https://www.models-resource.com/wii_u/soniclostworld/model/10270/

Please and thank you!!

If I recall from my past as an avid GTA modder, I believe both Sonic AND Shadow mods were made for Vice City. They weren't perfect but they at least matched regular anatomy. Plus they'd probably be low poly enough to not crash JKA.

It was and still is a work of art.

why post an inferior sonic to the sonic I posted...

Well the only alternative would be to find a better quality sonic model in terms of looks that's low poly. Maybe the Sonic Adventure sonic model.

The Headmesh of that model alone is between 3 and 4k vertices iirc. I actually did shitty model edits for Sonic Adventure during my first years of modding experience.

The Sonic and The Black Knight model should work fine, Wii games never had really highpoly models.

why can't we use super high-poly ps4/switch-era models?

You can use "high-poly" models if you don't mind the game crashing violently as soon as that model is hit by an attack.

So if your plan is to never get hit and never hit an NPC using this model anyway - nothing keeps you from using models with higher polygon counts that exceed the transform space limit.

What's the max "era" this game can reasonably play?

Like, PS2?

Playstation Vita?

I think the ”max era” question is irrelevant. The correct question should be “max specifications”.

For example, Force Arena (or Rivals) models are from “current era” but work fine in the game while TFU models (which is “relatively old”), might cause issues (if not optimized) because the amount of vertices per model.

Doesn’t matters if is a port/kitbas or a model made completely from scratch, is important that to understand the limitations of the game when making requests.

What the actual hell is that model in GTA?! Looks like some blue mutant.

It's probably the cousin of Ugandan Knuckles.

As someone who has played Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, all I have to say is: Even though it is possible to port models from other games,

some models shouldn't be ported at all. In the worst case, the games they are ported from lose their magic. I've learned that the hard way through GMod.

I just found this thread again... Can we have that Sonic Adventure model?

sonic adventure or sonic and the black knight. the problem is that the older sonic models don't seem to have mouths on model-resource :(
